High Force Research Ltd Enhances Workplace Safety with Comprehensive Fire Extinguisher Training for Staff Team

As part of the on-going health and safety training strategy, High Force Research (HFR) has recently supported members of the team with the successful completion of its annual fire extinguisher training programme.

The training initiative aims to empower employees with the knowledge and skills necessary to respond effectively in the event of a fire emergency and further bolster the company’s commitment to maintaining a safe and secure workplace environment.

Safety is a core value at HFR, and the implementation of this training programme underscores the company’s dedication to the well-being of its employees. The training was delivered in partnership with Vital Fire Solutions, part of County Durham & Darlington Fire and Rescue Service.

The fire extinguisher training was conducted over a 2-hour session, utilising a combination of theoretical instruction and hands-on practical exercises. Expert fire safety instructors guided participants through the proper usage of various fire extinguisher types, the identification of fire classes, and best practices for safely extinguishing different types of fires.

Key elements covered in the training included:

1. Understanding fire types and classes: Participants learned to recognise different fire sources and the appropriate extinguisher for each type, such as Class A, B, C, D, or electrical fires.

2. Proper handling and operation: Staff members received hands-on experience with fire extinguishers, learning the correct techniques for activation and deployment.

3. Emergency response protocols: The training emphasised the importance of promptly identifying and reporting fire incidents while efficiently evacuating the premises to ensure the safety of all personnel.

4. Fire prevention strategies: The program also highlighted fire prevention measures to reduce the likelihood of fire outbreaks in the workplace.

The company recognises the significance of investing in employee training and development, and this fire extinguisher training programme stands as a testament to the company’s dedication to professional growth and safety preparedness.

“We believe that a well-trained staff is a cornerstone of a secure workplace,”

said Jane Klotz, HR Manager at High Force Research.

“By providing our employees with comprehensive fire extinguisher training, we are empowering them to act confidently and efficiently in emergency situations. Our commitment to safety extends beyond our organisation, as we aim to promote a safety-conscious culture across industries.”
