Advanced pharmaceutical manufacturer, High Force Research Ltd, has continued with the growth plans to meet the demand for Quality Manufacturing and Synthetic Chemistry Services. Since May 2021, the team has grown from 35 employees, including chemists and analysts to 52 in the first quarter of 2022.
Joining the team in newly created roles are Dimana Daskalova (left) and Joseph Smith (right) as Graduate Production Chemists, Mark Thompson (second left) as Logistics Administrator, and Jack Gallagher (second right) as QC Analyst.
Dimana completed her BSc in Biopharmaceutical Science through the University of Sunderland in 2020 and went on to graduate with a Masters in Drug Chemistry at Newcastle University in 2021, while Joseph graduated in 2021 from Durham University achieving a 2:1 MChem Degree. His final year project focussed on ligation of nucleic acids (DNA and RNA).
Mark joins the Logistics Team, having worked previously at Bulkhaul and prior to that at Premo Fabrications, where he gained experience in imports, procurement, sales and administration. With the increase in production and R&D projects, the QC team has been expanded, with Jack joining as QC Analyst having worked previously as a Lab Technician at Chemtech Environmental and Analytical Chemist at Onyx Scientific.
Growth will continue at HFR into quarter 2 with the addition of two roles in the QA team, bringing finance in-house and further job opportunities with the R&D Team.
Jane Klotz, HR Manager commented:
“ Being part of a growing and successful business and creating new job opportunities in the North East is always a good news day. Finding the right candidates who have the skills and knoweldge to fit within the team, can be a challenge in such a competitive jobs market, but we have recruited some great individuals into the team at High Force Research.”
“ To support our planned growth, we are recruiting for a number of roles, including R&D Chemists, a QA Officer and a part-time Health, Safety & Environment Officer. And later in the year, we will be interviewing for candidates to join our degree apprenticeship programme from September 2022.”
